Would you like to help our school community by serving on the Tucker PTSO Board next year? In addition to filling vital needs, it’s an opportunity to connect with other parents and what’s going on at Tucker.
Planning for 2025-26 is underway and there will be a number of open positions to fill – Below is a summary of some of the openings for next year. Please contact Kristen Vithoulkas at president@jrtuckerptso.com for more information!
- For all roles: Attend all/most meetings (dates this school year 8/6, 9/5, 11/12, 2/25, 5/5), provide monthly updates if any to President by email, join PTSO.
- Secretary: Write minutes for Board and general meetings. Minimal time commitment outside of meetings.
- VP-Ways & Means: Oversee Tiger Trust (donations) & thank you emails, assist treasurer with matching gift forms, assist Tiger Den and Tiger Shack chairs. Time commitment depends on how much involvement in Den and Shack is desired.
- Tiger Shack (afternoon school store): Ensure volunteer coverage for the afternoon school snack store, purchase snacks and drinks. Current store hours 3:45-4:10 pm daily. Weekly time commitment for shopping and/or volunteering in the afternoon.
- Tiger Den (spirit wear): Design and order spirit wear, fulfill spirit wear online orders, ensure we have volunteers to sell at school events. Time commitment to sell at about 5 events per year, help fill orders which come mostly at the beginning and end of school year, and design or order items.
- Craftsmen Classic (opportunity to shadow March 14-16): Ensure we have adequate volunteer coverage at the fall and spring weekend events, fundraisers for our PTSO. Time commitment is pretty much only 2 weekends a year.
- Volunteers: Create sign up geniuses for PTSO events for all committee chairs upon request. Minimal time commitment.
- Legislation: Provide updates on legislation affecting our schools. Minimal time commitment.
- Party All Night (opportunity to shadow April 26): Coordinate Party All Night after prom event at SkateNation, getting snack donations and volunteer coverage at the event. Time commitment for prom night and planning time before it.
Now is a great time to get started because all of these roles are currently filled by volunteers who can train you and show you the ropes!
